Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel my registration?

We understand that things happen and sometimes cancellations are necessary. You can request cancellation and refunds via the run.events app using the account created during registration. Please understand that some or all of the  registration fees may not be refundable. It is very costly to produce an event like NACS and the facility demands non-refundable pre-payment of most costs. If we cannot refund your feeds, we will happily reserve a spot for you at a future event or help you reassign your ticket to someone else. Please read our terms and conditions for more information.

I have dietary restrictions, will I be able to eat at the event?

We relate to this issue, as conference food has been a significant challenge for several of the organizers over the years who also have food allergies. We do our best to cater to everyone’s needs but are limited by what the facility has to offer. Please answer the dietary restrictions questions on the registration form and we will do our best to facilitate your requirements. If we cannot, especially for those who have contract allergies (like nuts and spices), please take the normal precautions. It is worth noting that there are numerous restaurants in the area who may be better equipped to cater to individual allergies and food preferences.

What accommodations are available?

The event location is a stand alone facility and NACS does not provide any accommodations for attendees. However, there are numerous hotels and rentals available in the immediate vicinity. Please visit our Location page for more information.

How can I get to the event?

Our location is a short drive from DFW International Airport by car, taxi, or ride sharing service. There are DART light rail and bus stops within a few minutes walk. Ample parking is available at the facility and in nearby garages.

What are the COVID-related health protocols?

At this time, the State of Texas and the City of Irving do not impose any COVID-related health restrictions. Masks and social distancing are a personal choice. If you are traveling from another country, please check with your transportation provider regarding any travel-related restrictions for your country of origin.

Will sessions be recorded or available online?

No. All session and workshop content will be presented in person. Speakers may choose to share their presentation content via the run.events app or another mechanism at their discretion.

I've never been to Texas before, what can I expect?

Well, it’s about time y’all came for a visit, then! Texas is a welcoming southern State with a wide variety of activities for visitors to enjoy. The people are friendly and enjoy showing off everything the Lone Star State has to offer. Be prepared to eat a variety of foods, with Tex-Mex and Barbecue being the local favorites, and we serve ’em in large portions! It may require a bit of adjustment to understand our accent and don’t be surprised to hear healthy doses of Spanglish (Mexican Spanish mixed with English) spoken with a proper Texas drawl.

The weather in spring is likely to be warm but not overly hot, with cool evenings and gorgeous sunsets (air conditioning is everywhere for those from cooler climes who don’t enjoy the heat quite as much as the natives do). Bring your suntan lotion if yer fixin’ to be outside for a spell (that means a period of time longer than a few minutes and shorter than a full day). You just might be lucky enough to experience what natives call “a toad choker”, which is any kind of severe weather that results in a lot of rain. Speaking of weather, expect it to change, and fast – most of Texas is right under the jet stream, so things can move in quick and be over with quick.

One more thing – y’all tea drinkers need to be very specific when ordering a beverage. Tea in Texas, and in most of the Southern US, is served ice-cold and very sweet. If you want it hot, say so – asking for milk with it will earn you a strange look. Speaking of that, coffee doesn’t have milk in it, either – you gotta ask for that, too. And if you order a Coke, be prepared to specify what kind, as that term means any kind of carbonated beverage around these parts, not the actual Coca-Cola brand.

Y’all have fun now, y’hear?
